Bwin Poker is one of Europe’s oldest and most popular bookmakers, and through the acquisition of the Ongame network in 2005 they also became Europe’s largest poker network.
Their gaming software is excellent and is available in both a download and no-download client. The download version is sleeker and more reliable, but the Java client works very well too, offering most of the same functionality and graphics.
Unlike a lot of poker rooms which also offer casino/sportsbooks, bwin players aren’t terrible: they know how to play the game and don’t make stupid mistakes. This isn’t to say that everyone is good though; plenty of fish can be found playing in the lower stakes games at bwin, which evens out the competition.
Also on the table now with the growth of the network are way more promotions, such as high-value guaranteed tournaments, satellites to live tournaments and a massive player base.
Bwin Poker has a solid variety of games, with Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo and Five-Card Draw. Games are available in all the common limits and table sizes, with full, shorthanded and heads-up tables all options.
With a huge player base, reliable software, and outstanding dedication to company ethics, bwin Poker looks to be around for a long time. The promotions and customer support could still use some work, but they’re definitely adequate when compared to other online poker rooms.
